The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier national institution working towards strengthening Wildlife Conservation and Management through research, training and education. The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, is implementing the National Mission for Sustaining Himalayan Ecosystem (NMSHE) programme through national institutions which are nodal agencies for different Task Forces. WII has been identified as the nodal agency for the Task Force on Fauna and Micro Flora and will be implementing a 5 year project (2014-15 to 2019-2020) Assessment and Monitoring of Climate Change Effects on Wildlife Species and Ecosystems for Developing Adaptation and Mitigation Strategies in the Indian Himalayan Region under NMSHE.

1. Project Scientist (C level): 03 Posts
Qualification: M.Sc./ M.Tech. in Life Sciences/ Forestry/ Geo-informatics/ Geology/ Environmental Sciences/ Soil Science/ Computer Application/ Statistics/ Mathematics/ Hydrology/ Earth and Atmospheric Sciences or related fields with three years experience. Or PhD in any of the above fields.
2. Project Associate: 04 Posts
Qualification: PhD in Life Sciences/ Forestry/ Geo-informatics/ Geography/ Geology/ Environmental Sciences/ Soil Science/ Sociology/ Anthropology/ Computer Application/ Statistics/ Mathematics/ Hydrology/ Earth and Atmospheric Sciences/ Architecture/ Mass Communication or related fields. Or Three years of research, teaching, design and development experience after M.Tech./ ME.
3. Project Fellow (Research Fellow): 08 Posts
Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Life Sciences/ Fisheries Science/ Forestry/ Geo-informatics/ Geography/ Geology/ Environmental Sciences/ Soil Science/ Sociology/ Anthropology/ Computer Application/ Statistics/ Mathematics/ Hydrology/ Earth and Atmospheric Sciences/ Architecture/ Mass Communication or related fields with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognised University and NET/GATE/ WIINET qualified. Or Postgraduate degree in Professional Courses relevant to the above subjects.
4. Project Assistant: 08 Posts
Qualification: Postgraduate degree (Life Sciences/ Forestry/ Geo-informatics/ Environmental Sciences/ Sociology/ Computer Application/ Economics/ Business Administration/ Mass Communication). Or Graduate/ Postgraduate degree in Professional Courses relevant to above subjects.
5. Project Interns: 10 Posts
Qualification: Bachelor/ Master degree/ Diploma in Biological/ Physical/ Engineering/ Social Sciences).
