UPSC Combined Medical Services Exam 2016; LD: 01.04.2016

Union Public Service Commission UPSC will conduct a combined competitive Exam named Combined Medical Services Examination – UPSC CMS 2016 on 12th June 2016 for the recruitment of various posts/ services. Eligible candidates should apply online only through UPSC Recruitment official website www.upsc.gov.in, www.upsconline.nic.in on or before 01.01.2016.

  • Assistant Medical Officer in Indian Ordinance Factories Health Services –39 posts

  • General Duty Medical Officer in East/ North/ South Delhi Municipal Corporation – 372 Posts

Upper Age Limit: 32 years as on 01.01.2016. Age Relaxation is applicable as per Govt Rules.

Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed the written and practical parts of the final MBBS Examination

Application Fee: Rs.200/- (for SC/ ST/ PH/ Female candidates – No Fee)

UPSC CMS Exam Syllabus& Pattern

The written examination for Combined Medical Service for two objective papers will be conducted in Computer based mode. A demo module for Computer based mode of this examination will be available on UPSC website www.upsc.gov.in at the time of the launching of e-Admit Card.

Written Examination (2 papers of 200 marks each, both of objective type) Weightage
Paper I (200 marks)
(i) General Medicine including Cardiology, Neurology, Dermatology and Psychiatry 60%
(ii) Surgery including ENT, Ophthalmology, Traumatology and Orthopaedics 40%
Paper II (200 Marks)
(i) Paediatrics 20%
(ii) Gynaecology and Obstetrics 40%
(iii) Preventive, Social and Community Medicine 40%

Total marks for written exam. 400 Marks

Personality Test 200 Marks

 Penalty for wrong answers: Candidates should note that there will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.

Note: The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admit Card will be made available in the UPSC website [www.upsc.gov.in] for downloading by candidates. No Admit Card will be sent by post. All the applicants are required to provide valid and active E-mail i.d. while filling up Online application form as the Commission may use electronic mode for contacting them.
