Indian Air Force invites applications from enterprising & adventurous Indian citizens (men and women) to join the Indian air force as commissioned officers in flying, technical and ground duty branches. Registration for online applications will open on 04 June 2016 and will close on 30 June 2016. Courses Commencing In July 2017 for grant of Short Service Commission in Flying Branch and Permanent / Short Service Commission in Technical and Ground Duty Branches.

Essential Qualification Requirement (EQR):

Branch Educational Qualifications Age
Flying Branch Graduates (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized University who have attained minimum 60% marks or equivalent have passed Math and Physics at 10+2 level or BE / B Tech degree. 20 to 24 years
Technical Branch Minimum 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four year graduation / integrated post graduation Qualification in Engineering / Technology. 20 to 26 year
Ground Duty Branches Administration

& Logistics

Graduate Degree (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline with 60% marks or equivalent
Accounts B. Com. degree (Minimum three year degree course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent
Education MBA / MCA or MA / M Sc degree in relevant fields with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate all paper put together in Post Graduation.

Selection Process: AFCAT and / Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT)

AFCAT Exam pattern 2016

The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions. All questions will be of three marks each. For  every  correct  answer  the  candidate  will  get  three  marks  and  for  every  wrong  answer one  mark  will  be  deducted  under  negative  marking. The total time allotted for the paper is two hours.

AFCAT 2016 Syllabus

Each Question Paper will have questions from the following topics:-

 (a) General Awareness – History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.

(b) Verbal Ability in English – Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.

(c) Numerical Ability – Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.

(d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test – Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.
