Essential Qualification Requirement (EQR):
|Flying Branch||Graduates (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized University who have attained minimum 60% marks or equivalent have passed Math and Physics at 10+2 level or BE / B Tech degree.||20 to 24 years|
|Technical Branch||Minimum 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four year graduation / integrated post graduation Qualification in Engineering / Technology.||20 to 26 year|
|Ground Duty Branches||Administration
|Graduate Degree (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline with 60% marks or equivalent|
|Accounts||B. Com. degree (Minimum three year degree course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent|
|Education||MBA / MCA or MA / M Sc degree in relevant fields with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate all paper put together in Post Graduation.|
Selection Process: AFCAT and / Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT)
AFCAT Exam pattern 2016
The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions. All questions will be of three marks each. For every correct answer the candidate will get three marks and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted under negative marking. The total time allotted for the paper is two hours.
AFCAT 2016 Syllabus
Each Question Paper will have questions from the following topics:-
(a) General Awareness – History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.
(b) Verbal Ability in English – Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.
(c) Numerical Ability – Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.
(d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test – Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.
